Tutor Support
Tutor support is the term that we use to refer to all of the direct guidance and support that our students receive through Imperial International College. We offer comprehensive support in both the material and tutoring areas of learning.
Material
Our online learning platform provides detailed Lesson Sets for each subject, directing our students to the content that they are required to learn in each section of their course. Each subject also includes an Introduction document to make sure that our students are aware of the relevant information relating to each subject.
Assessment Planners are provided for each of our subjects, listing our recommended submission deadlines for each assessment (these are flexible and students are advised to adapt these planners to suit their personal schedule and study pace).
Tutoring
Students have access to a tutor for each of their subjects via email, WhatsApp and online video calls. Students can receive up to 2 hours of video calls with their tutor for each subject, every month.
Assessment
We facilitate continuous assessment through each of our courses. Each subject has on average 10 assessments, the final few of which are actual past papers. Each of these assessments is graded by our tutors and marked feedback is provided. These assessments do not count towards their final Cambridge exam result; their purpose is to identify what students do and do not know, so that they can focus their efforts on the areas that require more revision.
Enrichment Material
Our lesson sets include videos, activities* and quizzes* that relate to the content covered in the textbook in order to really enrich a student’s learning experience.
Although there are ample videos covering all sorts of subjects to be found on YouTube, we have also developed and continue to develop our own video lectures that are directly in line with the Gr 10/11 and Gr 12 syllabi.
All of this serves to encourage a passion for learning in our students.
Here is an example of one of our own embedded video lectures, that speaks directly to the Gr 10/11 Mathematics syllabus.

Study Skills Course
IIC has created our very own Study Skills course, freely available to our students alongside all our other subjects.
This course has been divided into “Themes” that will focus on the various aspects of studying that many students face, including online learning, note taking, evaluating information, and revision techniques.
Our hope is that the enrichment material and content in each Theme will be greatly informative and beneficial to our students in their personal academic journey.
With so much going on in our daily lives, it is so important to ensure that our time is spent wisely and effectively. Through understanding their unique style of learning and studying, our goal is that each student will feel equipped, efficient, and eager to apply these skills in their academic journey and beyond!
Forums
We capitalise on the fact that research has shown that there are significant benefits to be derived from forums in an online learning community. Consequently, part of our online Tutor Support offering includes the presence of online forums for each of our courses.
These allow for our support team and tutors to keep students informed, and our MyCollege Online 101 course allows for student interaction and relationship building.
We encourage our students to communicate with one another and with our tutors via these forums, as we believe that continuous and effective communication is a key to immersing oneself in a subject. The more you talk about it, the more you know and remember about it.
